Multiple critical vulnerabilities have been discovered in various Apple products, potentially allowing attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected systems. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the logged-on user. Depending on the user's privileges, an attacker could then install programs, view, change, or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights. Users with fewer system privileges may be less impacted than those with administrative rights.

Affected Systems

visionOS versions prior to 2.3
iPadOS versions prior to 17.7.4
iOS versions prior to 18.3 and iPadOS versions prior to 18.3
macOS Sequoia versions prior to 15.3
macOS Sonoma versions prior to 14.7.3
macOS Ventura versions prior to 13.7.3
watchOS versions prior to 11.3
tvOS versions prior to 18.3
Safari versions prior to 18.3

Threat Intelligence

Apple has reported that CVE-2025-24085 may have been actively exploited against versions of iOS prior to iOS 17.2.

Recommendations

1. Apply the latest security updates provided by Apple to all vulnerable systems immediately after appropriate testing.
2. Implement the Principle of Least Privilege across all systems and services. Run software using non-privileged user accounts to minimize the impact of potential attacks.
3. Enable and configure anti-exploitation features on enterprise assets and software, such as Apple System Integrity Protection (SIP) and Gatekeeper.
4. Implement application control and script blocking measures to prevent unauthorized code execution.
5. Deploy host-based intrusion detection and prevention solutions on enterprise assets to detect and prevent suspicious behavior patterns.
6. Establish and maintain a documented vulnerability management process, including regular automated vulnerability scans and a risk-based remediation strategy.
7. Conduct regular penetration testing, including application-specific tests, to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.

By implementing these measures, organizations can significantly reduce the risk posed by these Apple product vulnerabilities and enhance their overall cybersecurity posture.
